Betty Rae Frichtl, 79, of Paxton passed away at 1:13 a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Heartland Healthcare Center, Paxton.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 3, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 407 W Pells, Paxton with Rev. Dong Van Bui officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E Pells, Paxton with a Rosary at 3:30 p.m.

Betty was born August 25, 1939 in Olney the daughter of Raymond and Opal Kincade Blackford. She married Edward A. Frichtl June 28, 1958 at Trinity Catholic Church in Rankin. He survives.

Along with her husband of 60 years, she is survived by seven children, Paul (Sherri) Frichtl of Rankin, Peggy Frichtl of Paxton, Jerry (Melody) Frichtl of Armstrong, Rick (Lauri) Frichtl of Paxton, Patti (Mike) Marchakitus of Loda, Melinda (Randy) Kinney of Paxton, Connie (Dennis) Gass of Gifford; 19 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; one brother, Dean (Phyllis) Blackford of Rankin; two sisters, Wilma Sutton of Paxton, Ruby (Don) Frichtl of Paxton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Wanda Hasler; and one brother, Vernon Blackford.

Betty graduated from Paxton High School in 1957 and attended Kankakee College majoring in business. She managed the Convenient Mart in Paxton for 10 years but throughout her married life her main priority was assisting her husband with farming and raising their children.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Paxton where she played the organ for over 20 years. She was also a member of the CCW and was Mother of the Year and Honorary Woman of the Year. Betty was a former member and president of the Paxton PTA.

Betty enjoyed gardening and flowers, baking and cooking. She loved spending time with her family, preparing Sunday dinners and never missed an event for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
