Elvin Loy Adams, 85, Freeman, MO, died Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at St. Luke’s Plaza Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri. Burial in Glenwild Cemetery, Cleveland, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke’s Heart Institute or West Line Christian Church.

Loy was born September 30, 1932 in Everett, MO, a son of John Delbert and Elva Maude (Brooks) Adams. He was a 1950 graduate of Archie High School. He was united in marriage to Mary Lou Sanders on August 30, 1952 in Bentonville, Arkansas.

Loy was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked at the General Motors Assembly Plant in Kansas City, MO (Leeds) and in Monroe, Louisiana, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the United Auto Workers and West Line Christian Church. He had lived in Freeman over 60 years. He was an avid Cass Midway High School Vikings football fan, and he loved to hunt and fish.

Loy was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary, on March 10, 2016, two brothers, three sisters, and one great-grandson. He is survived by one son, Gene Adams and his wife, Cindy, Cleveland, MO; four daughters, Teresa Narducci, Kansas City, MO, Cindy Mincks and husband, Steve, Freeman, MO, Nova Kraft and husband, Johnny, Freeman, MO, and Sara Boyer, Freeman, MO; one brother, Elton Adams and wife, Nina, Freeman, MO; 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 on the way.
