LACONIA — Mrs. A. Milicent Burchell, 88, of 435 Union Ave., The Taylor Home, and formerly of Lower Bay Road in Sanbornton, died at the Congregate Living Center in Laconia on Monday, Oct. 1, 2001.
Mrs. Burchell was born Nov. 17, 1912, in Middletown, Conn., the daughter of the Rev. S. J. A. and Anna (Schwarz) Rook.
Mrs. Burchell was a member of the Congregational Church of Laconia and the Friendship Club.
She summered on Lake Winnisquam in Sanbornton for 25 years and then continued to live there year round for the next 20 years until she and her husband moved into The Taylor Home in Laconia in 1998.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, the Rev. Dr. E. Ray Burchell of Laconia; two daughters.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Oct. 4, from 7-8 p.m. in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, Oct. 5, at 2 p.m. at the Congregational Church of Laconia, 18 Veterans Square, Laconia. The Rev. E. Barent Grevatt, former pastor of the church will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Carolyn H. Keilig, interim associate pastor of the church. Burial will follow in the family lot in Union Cemetery, Laconia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dorcas Fund, Congregational Church of Laconia, 18 Veterans Square, Laconia, NH 03246.
