Tommy D. Bayless, 82, of Parsons, died at 8:02 p.m., Thursday, August 23, 2018 in the Emergency Room at Labette Health.
He was born on June 27, 1936 in Parsons to Theodore W. Bayless and Freda M. Wellborn. He grew up in Parsons where he graduated from Parsons High School. He attended Labette County Junior College. He served in the United States Army. Following his honorable discharge, he lived in Santa Maria, California. He worked for ITT Federal Services Corporation until retiring. Following his retirement he first moved to Cherryvale then to Parsons.
Tommy enjoyed fishing, golfing, and playing cards at the Katy Golf Course. He also enjoyed photography, and going to casinos.
He was a gun collector, a member of the Parsons Gun Club, and the National Rifle Association.
He and Harriett Newell were married in 1960 in Parsons and later divorced.

One Daughter – Deborah Howard Mclean, Virginia

Graveside Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Military honors will be given by the Brown-Bishop Post #704 Veterans of Foreign Wars of Parsons.
