Bethany,Mo, Nov. 22 -- The most disastrous fire in the history of the city occurred early Sunday morning when Blackburn Bros. livery barn and the blacksmith and woodshop belonging to Bradley & Green were totally destroyed and two young men were burned to death.
James Barker and Elmer Fruit, who slept in the second story of the barn, were burned to death and their bodies were discovered only after the fire had been almost extinguished. Eighteen horses, all the harness, buggies, feed, etc., belonging to Blackburn Bros. , the shop and the tools of Bradley & Green and C.F. Cornellson are a total loss. None of the parties had 1 cent of insurance.
