Alvida Amendolea, 93, of Fairmont, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2018. She was born June 30, 1925 in Fairmont, daughter of that late John Tork and Ernestine D’Andrea Tork.
Alvida retired from Westinghouse Electric and was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. She enjoyed making bread, taking care of her children, and crocheting.
Alvida is survived by her children, Gregory Amendolea of Fairmont, and Nancy Vincent of Mannington; grandchildren, Natalie Michael, John Richard Shaffer, Nicola Amendolea, and D’Andrea Amendolea; great grandchildren, Jena Michael, Isaiah Amendolea, Addy Shaffer, Johnny Carter Shaffer, and Noah Waites; nieces, Judy Tork, Giovanna Lynch, and Toni Jo Southern; nephews, John Richard Spatafore, Mimmie Angeline, and Ralph Spatafore; and a good friend, Beth.
In addition to her parents, Alvida is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph D. Amendolea; and several brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont, on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church on Thursday, August 30, 2018, with Father Joseph Konikattil as celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Fairmont.
