Willis Washington Ward fought in the battle of Pea Ridge and Elkhorn Tavern in Northern Arkansas. He was a Guidon Bearer for an Arkansas Calvary unit, possibly a Cherokee unit. He was only 14 years old at the time and was wounded twice. One rifle ball took part of his ear and one in the clf of his leg and I believe Azza Ward said he had two or three horses killed. He was a member of the Mason's in his later day and quite well respected. The masons put a big article in the paper about him when he died.
