Dorothy Virginia Wardensky, 90, of Park Falls, died on Wednesday May 24, 2017, at Park Manor Nursing Home in Park Falls.

She was born on April 7, 1927, in Park Falls, the daughter of Marion and Junie (Rutherford) Young. Her early life and schooling were in Park Falls. On Dec. 10, 1943, she married Earl Wardensky in Park Falls. Dorothy worked for Musingwear, St. Croix and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Eastern Star, the Rebekahs, and was very active in many capacities at her church, the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Park Falls.

She is survived by her daughter Jean (William) Flesch of Appleton; granddaughters

Megan (Michael Grajeda) Flesch of Mancos, Colo., Melissa (Brandon Schwartz) Flesch of Phoenix; her sister-in-law Carol Young of Minocqua and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Earl in 2007, her son Earl Jr. “Butchie” in 1955, and two brothers: James Young and infant brother Billie Young.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 30, 2017, at 11 a.m. from the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Park Falls. Rev. Donald Quigley will officiate.

Burial will follow at Nola Cemetery in Park Falls.

A visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the service.
