Nevada Journal, December 1972 – Mrs. Clara Tiffany – Mrs. Clara Tiffany of Collins, 83, died Thursday at Des Moines General Hospital.
Born June 26, 1889, in Jasper County, she was the daughter of Herbert K. and Mary A. Edwards Skinner. She married Ray Tiffany on Feb. 22, 1907, in Clear Creek Township, Jasper County. He preceded her in death on Oct 13, 1970.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Myrtle) Fisk of Prophetstown, Ill., and Mrs. Clinton (Alta) Lauder of Iowa Falls. There are also two grandchildren and six great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her mother, father and nine brothers and sisters.
She was raised and educated in Jasper County, then spent most of her married life in the Collins area. She was active in church work, belonging to the C.W.F. and the Happy Birthday Club.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Christian Church in Collins, with Rev. David Schaeffer officiating. Burial will be in the Ashton Cemetery. The casket will be opened at the church at 10 a.m. Saturday. Memorials may be dedicated to the family. Boyd-Nickell Funeral Home in Baxter is in charge of arrangements.
