CAPITOLA, Jeffrey Russell, age 55 of New York City, formerly of Centerville, passed away unexpectedly on April 6, 2017. He was born in Xenia to the late Robert and Beverly Capitola. Jeff graduated from Centerville High School in 1979 and graduated from Denison University, earning his Bachelor's of Arts Degree in 1983. He has had a varied career in the entertainment industry. Most recently Jeff worked for Radio City Music Hall as the Vice President of Production and Rockette Operations. He was incredibly dedicated and passionate about his work.

Jeff leaves behind to cherish his memory, sisters, Lori Capitola and Lisa Capitola; his DiSalvo family- Sam Roxanne, Mark, Alane, Rocco, Shauna, Lori, Lee, Cara, Mark, and Leslie; good friends Gary and Tara Memi , and Dave Janik; his Radio City Music Hall family; and many other loving relatives and friends. Jeff was a caring and loving brother, friend, and great uncle Jeff (GUJ) to Cy Memi, Layne, Kellen, and Sloane Walsh, Annie Whitson, Will DiSalvo and McKenzie Short. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

Jeff had a smile that could brighten a room and a sense of humor to match. Many were fortunate enough to call him a friend. He was well liked by a hell of a lot of people.


A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home - Beavercreek from 5pm - 8pm. A Memorial Mass will be held the following morning at Church of the Incarnation (Centerville) at 10:30am. After mass, per Jeff's request, please stop by Bill's Donuts or Marion's Piazza, two of his favorite Centerville hang-outs when he was home.
