DURST, Mary June (Betz) age 89 of Englewood, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Grace Brethren Village. Mary June was a lifelong Northmont Area resident and taught countless area children the love of music. She served for 45 years as the Director of Music at Concord United Methodist Church, a member of the Dayton Music Club, Past Chairperson of the Western Ohio Conference Choir Directors, Past President and Co-Founder of the Dayton Choir Masters Club and served as the Director of the Children's Choir in Keep Christ in Christmas. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Don & Julie Durst of CO., and Ken & Barb Durst of MA., sister and brother-in-law: Helen & Quentin Jenkinson of Englewood, four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, brother-in-law and sister-in-law: John & Margaret Durst of Clayton, sister-in-law: Barbara Phillips of Xenia, and many other family members and special friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years: Howard E. Durst in 2004, and parents: Michael Russell & Tillie Marie (Gilbert) Betz. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 25, at Concord United Methodist Church (1123 S. Main St., Englewood 45322) with the Rev. Dr. Tom Rand officiating. Interment will be at the Concord Church Cemetery. A reception for family and friends will be held at Concord Church Fellowship Hall following the committal service. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Concord United Methodist Church organ and piano maintenance fund. The Kindred Funeral Home, Englewood is handling arrangements.
