Ada May Hipkins, 99, of Jacksonville passed away Wednesday evening, August 22, 2018 at Knollwood Retirement Village in Jacksonville. She was born October 30, 1918 in Jacksonville the daughter of Arthur and Bessie Rose Mason Hipkins.

She is survived by one brother, Donald Hipkins of Jacksonville; one sister, Shirley (Don) McNabb of Victoria, TX; sister-in-law, Edith Hipkins of Jacksonville and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur Hipkins and Raymond Hipkins and two sisters, Elsie Marie Hipkins and Dorothy Range.

Ms. Hipkins graduated from Mac Murray College. She had been employed as a Medical Technologist in Hinsdale for many years. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Jacksonville and enjoyed painting, traveling, gardening and all kinds of animals. The family would like to thank Ada's caregivers and Cass/Schuyler Area Hospice for the care and compassion they gave her.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Jacksonville with burial at Jacksonville East Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to The Dog P.E.N. or Trinity Episcopal Church. Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
