The son of Joseph and Sarah (Stewart) Brinkworth and widower of Clara Pfister, Joseph resided on Olenda Avenue in Shively and had retired as a traffic clerk for American Tobacco Company after 43 years of service. He died at home of heart disease a month after losing his wife, and following funeral services at St Helen, was interred at St Louis on 22 September 1965.
