Lawrence W. Clark (known as "Button") departed this life on July 25, 2018 at the Cedars Nursing Home, in Charlottesville, Va. Lawrence was born to the late Theodore W. and Jettie Johnson Clark on May 9, 1941.
Lawrence accepted Christ at an early age and was an active member of Divine Baptist Church, in Louisa, where he served on the Trustee Board and was an active member until his health failed.
Preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother-"Button" leaves to mourn his loss his children, Alan C. Clark (friend Keisha), Leslie A. Johnson (Melvin), Latanya Smith (Michael), Tawanda Anderson (Carlos), Julian Anderson (Charletta), Loretta Dean (Charles) and Sheila Confort; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pastor Fannie Henderson (Nathaniel) and Grace Smith (Johnny); two brothers, Floyd Clark (Jean) and Kelley Clark (Dorothy); one sister-in-law, Laura Payne; two brothers-in-law, Willie Hayden (Brenda) and Harry Brooks; devoted friends, Tyrone Curry, Denise Anderson, Karen Martin; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Philippi Christian Church, 7133 Jefferson Hwy., Mineral, Va. Rev. Fannie Henderson officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
