Helen P. Mazur, 88, Memphis died Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at home with family by her side. She was born November 2, 1927 in Detroit to the late Stanley & Tillie Bozek.
Helen married Stanley Mazur in November of 1947 in Detroit. He preceded her in death on August 11, 2011.
Helen had worked for Chrysler and Lionel Trains, having retired from the latter.
She was a member of the Blue Water Polka Booster Club.
Helen is survived by her children, Kevin (Mary) Mazur of Memphis; Debra Ponder of Memphis; three grandchildren; DJ Ponder, Benjamin and Katlyn Mazur; a sister, Jean Sox of Ohio, and close friend, Gloria Suo.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Bozek and two sisters, Stephanie Mazur and Ann Babbitt. A special thanks to McLaren Hospice for taking great care of Helen in her final days.
Cremation has taken place. Arrangements were made by Kammeraad-Merchant Funeral Home, Memphis. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date. Donations can be made to McLaren Hospice of Sterling Heights.
