Graveside services and interment for Mr. Jerry Edmonds will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, August 24th, at New Hope Baptist Cemetery in Longview.
Mr. Jerry Hamill Jackson Edmonds, 78, passed away Monday, August 20, 2018, at his home in Starkville, MS. Graveside services and interment will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, August 24th, at New Hope Baptist Cemetery in Longview, MS, with Rev. Jim Philamlee officiating. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Edmonds was born March 30, 1940 in Louisville, MS. Jerry was loved his country and was one hundred percent committed soldier. He was an Army Veteran, having served during the Vietnam War, and retired after 20 years as an MP and CID investigator. Back home, he continued in law enforcement with the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department, as well as Security Supervisor for several convenience stores. Jerry was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wise Jackson and Mary Clyde Hamill Jackson Edmonds; and Archie Lee Edmonds; one son, Mikael Edmonds; and one sister, Mary Lee Farley.
He is survived by his wife, Katie Kuniko Edmonds of Starkville, MS; one brother, George Edmonds of Mathiston, MS; and special family members, Chris and Mariah Orose.
