Chet Cansler was Born in Hollis, OK.

He met and Married Oceena Wilkerson in 1950 in Hollis, Oklahoma. A son was born, Ronald Lee, later that year, in Hollis Oklahoma, and a daughter Deborah Lynn in 1952, in Brawley, California.

The family moved from Oklahoma to Imperial, California in 1952. They moved to El Centro, California in 1966. They moved to Richfield, Sevier County, Utah in 1999.

Chet worked at the Imperial Irrigation District (IID); from 1952 to about 1985.
He started as a Swamper and retired as the Senior Heavy Equipment Operator at the IID. It was only in the last few years at the IID that Chet finally, through seniority, was assigned a grader with an enclosed cab and air conditioning.

He was preceded in death by his Wife, Oceena Wilkerson Cansler in 2003
All of the children were still living; Earline Hisel, Betty Ahrens, Mel Clemmer, Debbie Pringle, and Ron Cansler.
