Agnes Elizabeth "Betty" Backstrom, 78, of West Sixth Street, died Sunday, April 13, 1997, in St. Mary's Medical Center. She was a lifelong Duluth resident and a homemaker.
Betty enjoyed flower gardening and keeping a decorated and well-maintained yard. She was a 1936 graduate of Denfeld High School, and was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Millicent Curtis Foubister; husband, Robert M. in 1976, and a son, Gary, in 1995.
Betty is survived by her son, Robert (Judy); daughter-in-law Margaret "Peggy" Backstrom; sister, Lois Anderson; grandchildren:, twins Kyle and Karie, Wade , Jeffrey, and Jody; and a great-granddaughter.
Burial will be in Oneota Cemetery.
