John M. Cline Sr. 90, of Troy, IL, born September 7, 1927 in Collinsville, IL, passed away Monday, February 12, 2018 with his loving and devoted wife and family by his side at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, IL.

John was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Troy. He faithfully served his country in the United States Navy. He retired from Granite City Steel after 43 years of service. John collected and repaired watches as a hobby, he also enjoyed working on his lawn, cutting wood and attending church.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Michal; parents, Fred and Eva Jane (nee Borst) Cline; and a sister, Annie Mae Cline, Betty Meadows, Mary Dill; brother Harold Cline.

Surviving are his wife Nettie (nee Rittgers) Cline of Troy, IL, whom he married June 24, 1961 in Troy, IL; his children, Marsha (Clayton) Hall of Oakridge, OR, John Jr. (Carolyn) Cline of Edwardsville, IL, Mark Cline of Collinsville, IL, Susan (Larry) Amis of Bremerton, WA, Sara (Darrell) Meek of Collinsville, IL and Adam (Amy) Cline of Gulf Shores, AL; brother, Roger Cline; 21 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
