Ruth Eileen Wintersteen, 80, of Bemidji, MN died Monday, August 13, 2018 at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center. Ruth Eileen "Dilly" Lovik was born December 14, 1937 to Haakon and Bertha Lovik in Bemidji, MN. She married Donald C. Wintersteen in 1957. They had two children, Patty (Mike) Nygaard and Terry (DeeAnn Evans) Wintersteen. She worked for her father at the Bemidji Food Mart and Recreation Caf for many years. She then went to work at Bemidji Vo-Tech for 14 years before she had to retire on account of kidney problems. She received a kidney from Doug Warrington (Donald's cousin) going on 22 years ago. She traveled for years with her husband, Don, on all his Eagles travel's. She loved to cut the three acre yard of her family farm by Grace Lake, where she lived for 75+ years before selling and moving to town. She had no brothers or sisters so really enjoyed her cousins, aunts and uncles.

Per Ruth's request there will be no public services and a private burial. She will be placed by her Mother and Dad at Aardahl Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji, MN.In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Sanford Health Foundation- Kidney Dialysis Fund, Sanford Heart Center Fund or donor's choice.
