"Judge" John Gwin was the son of Revolutionary War patriot John Gwin b. 15 DEC 1764 - d. 1840 and his wife Sarah Harper b. circa 1762 - d. unk.

Patriot John Gwin 1764-1840 was NEVER married to Sarah Donnell and this fact has been verified by both the DAR and the SAR.

Judge John Gwin was the first Parish Judge of Washington Parish, LA and later a Methodist Minister in Texas.
His first wife was Elizabeth Roberts (m. 1817) and his second wife was Celia Thompson (m.1845)
