Mrs. Margaret Reimers, mother of Mrs. Ehler Horst, died Monday morning at 4 o'clock, from cancerous trouble in the stomach. She was 70 years of age. The remains were buried Wednesday afternoon in the Avoca cemetery after funeral services at the house. She was highly spoken of by her many friends as a most estimable woman. The funeral was largely attended.
Mrs. Reimers was born in Holstein, Germany, in 1834. In 1867 she came to this country and at once took up her residence in Avoca, where she lived ever since. She was the mother of three children, two step-children and fifteen grandchildren. William Dalidorf and Mrs Ehler Horst are the surviving children, and John Reimers, the step-child. She leaves, besides, a brother, Claus Ellerman, Mrs. Detlef, in Avoca. There were many beautiful floral offerings.
