Mrs. Agnes "Aunt Aggie" (Andrade) Carraturo, age 96 formerly of Hydraulion Avenue, Bristol, died Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at the Silver Creek Manor, Bristol. She was the wife of the late Carmine C. "Cak" Carraturo, her husband of 54 years, who preceded her in death in 1996. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (Borges) Andrade. Aggie was a Registered Nurse, a graduate of the Rhode Island Hospital School Nursing. She worked for RI Hospital for 25 years, retiring in 1987. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol, where she was a member of the Rosary and Altar Society, Nocturnal Adoration Society at the church. She was also a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality of St. Elizabeth's Church and a volunteer for many years for the Sisters of St. Dorothy former annual Lawn Festival and Bazaar at Mt. St. Joseph, along with her late husband who served as their chairman for several years. Aggie also was a volunteer for the Bristol 4th of July Committee for a number of years. She is survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Thomas Carraturo, sisters, Sadie DeLucca Silvia and Marie Merces " Masie" Martins and brothers, Joseph and John Andrade. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Monday, August 13, 2018 at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol.
