Shreveport - Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Delores Dale will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 6971 West 70th Street in Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating will be Dr. Dwayne L. Johnson Sr. of Hopewell Baptist Church, Shreveport, Louisiana. Interment will follow services at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery.
Mary was born September 3, 1941 in Shreveport, Louisiana and passed away on August 1, 2018. She was the matriarch of the family and will be dearly missed by family and friends. Mrs. Dale was an excellent cook and was blessed with her mother's keen sense of humor which was very entertaining to many.
Mrs. Dale was preceded in death by her husband Harry Dale, mother Mary Lee Blackston, father Walter Sloan and brother Felton Ferguson. Left to cherish her memory are daughters Debbie Simmons, Janice Williams and Carrie Jean Dale, all of Shreveport, Louisiana, brother Willie Sloan of Long Beach, California and sister Barbara Wiggins of Shreveport, Louisiana, grandchildren Candace Dale, Chandra Williams, Kimberly Dale, Brandon Dale, Gabriel Simmons, Terrence Dale, Jarek Williams and Malcom Paxton, five great grands and a host of family and friends.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Colonial Oaks Nursing Home for the care of our loved one. A very special thanks to Kimberly Dale, her granddaughter and nurse, for taking care of our queen.
