John H. Bailey, 79, of 400 East High street, died Wednesday night at 10 o'clock, at his residence. Mr. Bailey was born in New Castle, Indiana, and has been in failing health of the past few months. He had been a resident of Eaton and Preble county most of his life.
Survivors include the wife, Anna; six sons, Russell, Hollansburg; Harley, Wilbur and Kenneth, Richmond, Ind.; Raymond, Waynesville, Ohio, and Dale of Fort Wayne, Ind.; four step-sons Clifford Bechtol, Detroit, Michigan; Robert Bechtol, Cincinnati, Charles and William Swafford, Calif.; five step-daughters, Clara Bechtol. Eaton, Mrs. Russell Parks, Eaton, Mrs. Reese Pitsinger, Eaton, Mrs. Elizabeth Phillips, Eaton, Mrs. Edith Root, Hamilton; nineteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Bailey were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Girton Funeral home in Eaton, with Rev. L. John Weaver officiating. Burial was in Concord cemetery, west of Eaton.
