Catherine Mary Audrey-Quinn, nee Andrego, left this world to be with the Lord on July 10th, 2017, after a long and arduous battle with cancer. Catherine was born on July 17, 1961, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. Two months later the family (her parents Louis and Joan Andrego, and siblings Jim and Jennifer) moved to San Jose, California. Then in September, 1968, the family (with the addition of two siblings, Joanne and Barbara) moved to Fremont, CA.

Catherine began raising her family in Fremont. During many weekend getaways to Napa, she discovered the beauty of the Napa Valley, and eventually, in 2001, moved with her two children, son Corey, and daughter Amy Lynn. Her mom and sisters followed within the next several years.

Catherine graduated from Mowry Elementary School, Fremont, CA, in 1973, and Kennedy High School, also Fremont, in 1979. She graduated from San Jose State University in 1983, with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy. She also took many dance classes.

During her career, she worked for Easter Seals in Sacramento, The San Francisco School District, and the Napa School District. She also worked with foster children doing home visits. Since 2001, she worked at the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center in the Child Development Clinic doing pediatric sensory assessments and treatments. She started the Torticollis Clinic , and for this, she was recognized as the “Healer of the Month” in 2001.

Dance has always been an important part of her life, starting when she was very young. She was a creative participant of the Bay Area Chapter of Interplay. She continued to dance until the beginning of her cancer.

Catherine became a remarkably resilient life-long learner, who was unafraid to take on challenging enterprises. She was an energetic, focused, goal-oriented person, whether she was assisting classmates with math, raising her two children, working with special needs students, planning her consulting business, or just building her skills and expertise at classes and workshops.

A highpoint of Catherine’s life occurred this year in May, when she went on a pilgrimage to Lourdes, France, thanks to the generosity of the Knights of Malta. Lourdes is a place of significance for Catholics, where the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared and where many pilgrims receive healing. Catherine, a life long Catholic, received a spiritual healing of the heart and soul. She described feeling immensely loved. Another attendee said, “I remember her because she had a smile on her face every single day”. This experience prepared her to be carried home to Jesus, the greatest healing of all.

Catherine was described as the following from her friends and coworkers: “Catherine touched so many lives;” “I’ll always remember her boundless joy and loving smile;” “She had a smile on her face every single day;” “I’ll always remember her positive and uplifting spirit, and her love for her family and friends;” “I’ll always picture Catherine laughing and smiling. She is incredibly funny too.”

Catherine is survived by her husband Lowell Stalbaum, son Corey Pargett (Deanna), daughter Amy Lynn Pargett, mother Joan Andrego, brother Jim Andrego (Gayle) and sisters Joanne Andrego and Heather Andrego. She is also survived by the joys of her life, her grandchildren Aiden Zentall, Allyana Letts, Raelyn Pargett, Alijah Kitley, and Maylee Pargett. She also cared greatly for her many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her father Louis Andrego, and sisters Barbara, Claudia, and Jennifer Andrego.
