He is a son of William Wesley Mullins (1867-1955) and Mary Eliza (Lane) Mullins (1869-1946) and he married Icyphine Frances Crews (1913-1984) on 12 July 1931 in Bradfordsville, Kentucky.
He was a welder for General Motors. During WW II, he was given a deferment as GM made tanks, etc and they felt he was needed more at GM. He retired from there.
They had seven children - Ramonna Joan, Orville "Gene", Joseph Blake, Ravonda Ann, Gloria Sharon, William Clellon and Marna Sue Mullins.
