Alice was a 1955 graduate of Washington Irving High School and she furthered her education by attaining her undergraduate nursing degree from Alderson-Broaddus College in Philippi, WV in 1959 , the University of Central Florida where she earned her Master's Degree (1982-83), and additional course work at Anchorage Community College, the University of Alaska at Anchorage and Lenior-Rhyne College in Hickory. A memorial service will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday, August 14, 2018 in The Padgett and King Chapel with Reverend David Hinkleman officiating. Interment of her ashes will follow in the Cool Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 2 o'clock prior to the service at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to Advent Lutheran Church, 118 Reveley Street, Spindale, North Carolina 28160.
