Anna Maria Lerch Scheimer was the first wife of Peter Scheimer and the mother of John Lerch Scheimer; their only child. She was the daughter of Anton Lerch who served on the Committee of Observation in Easton, Pa. from Northampton County, Pa. in 1774 during the Revolutionary War and Anna Margaretta Lauer Lerch. Anton Lerch accompanied Captain Christian Laubach and the Saucon Rangers to erect Fort Allen under the direction of Benjamin Franklin during the French and Indian Wars on the Pennsylvania frontier at Weissport, Pa. Andreas Lerch (1688-1738), her grandfather, emigrated from Germany with his sons Anton, Peter and Gratius, and landed in Philadelphia, Pa. on September 16, 1738 on the ship Queen Elizabeth. Andreas Lerch died shortly after debarkation. The Laubach family was on the ship as well. Their patriarch died the following year. Both families settled adjoining tracts in what was to become Lower Saucon Township. The Laubach family settled along Laubach's Creek. The Lerch family settled 1/4 mile to the east along the old Easton Road.
