Lona A. Krieger was born May 3, 1890, in New Novelty, Knox County, Missouri, the daughter of Stephen Andrus and Arreanor E. "Rena" (Rogers) Krieger.

Lona married Joseph H. Whitehead on June 10, 1909, in Bethel, Shelby County, Missouri, by Rev. E. O. Basye, Pastor of the Methodist Church. Joseph was born October 15, 1885, in Shelbina, Shelby County, Missouri, the son of William Whitehead. They had the following known children:

1. Estelle Emaline (Whitehead) Halbrooks (1910-1984)

In the 1910 Census, Lona who appears as Monie and Joseph were living in Black Creek Township, Shelby County, Missouri and Joseph was employed in general farming. His father William was living with them and their daughter Estelle was exactly one month old.

In the 1920 Census, the family had moved to Arapahoe County, Colorado and Joseph's father William was still living with them.

Lona and Joseph divorced and he then married Mabel F. Simpson. He died May 17, 1936, in Peoria, Peoria County, Illinois. Lona died February 1922 in Parker, Douglas County, Colorado.
