He served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. He retired from Carroll County Board of Education on July 1, 1994 after 23 ½ years.
He is survived by two sons, Terry Lee Crushong and wife Janet of Union Bridge, T.R. Crushong and fiancée Tammy Hay of Union Bridge; a daughter, Mary Catherine Crushong and husband Craig Eichelberger of Westminster; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Gaylord Albaugh and wife Margaret of Summerfield, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, mowing the grass, riding his motorcycle, and his beloved pets. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
