Mrs. Cynthia Grace Beeks, 80, of Dallesport died on Monday, May 8 at her home. She was born October 4, 1908, to Richard and May Dingmon near Goldendale.

Beeks attended school at Pleasant Valley and was united in marriage to John Beeks, Jr., January 12, 1926, in Goldendale. They moved to Roosevelt in 1940 where they worked as bus drivers and school janitors. Cynthia also worked for a time as Post Master and mail carrier at Roosevelt. They moved to Dallesport in 1976. Her husband, Johnny, died May 25, 1988.

Beeks was also preceded in death by two infant sons, Richard in 1927 and Martin in 1930. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Beeks served as 4-H. leader for seven years during World War II. She was past Noble Grand of Alder Rebekah number 80 at Bickleton and served as a lecturer of White Creek Grange. She also enjoyed sewing.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Connie Sigsbee of The Dalles. Two grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 11, in the Chapel of Knosher-Erdman Funeral Home with Pastor Vince Hart of the United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
