Went to be with his Lord, July 31, 2018 at Bavarian Comfort Care after a lengthy battle with Lewy Body Dementia; age 82 years. Marshall Elroy Gibbs was born on July 26, 1936 in Dover, TN to the late Marshall Elmore Gibbs and Evelyn Bove. He was married to Veonna "Nona" Wilshusen on November 28, 1959 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Flint, MI; she survives him. He honorably served as an aerial photographer post Korean and pre Vietnam wars for the Marine Corps. Marshall was last employed by LCMS-MD Church Extension Fund until his retirement in 2003. He was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, Frankenmuth Lions Club, American Legion, St. Lorenz Foundation, Flint Jaycees, and Flint Optimist. Marshall was an avid fisherman, collector of vinyl records, WWI sheet music, sports cards, and first edition civil war and military books.

Surviving besides his wife Nona are: a daughter Bethany (Donald) Young of Livermore, CA; a son M. Scott (Kiffany) Gibbs of Larkspur, CA; grandchildren Andrea M. Young, Cora J. Gibbs and Doran R. Gibbs; cousins and many close friends.

Marshall was preceded in death by a grandson, Eric J. Young.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, August 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, 1030 W. Tuscola, Frankenmuth, Michigan. Rev. Shawn Fenske will officiate with burial in St. Lorenz Cemetery. Marshall's family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin Street on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
