She is preceded in death by her parents, Minnie Bell Brown Dawkins (1910-1993) and Girvis L. Dawkins (1908-1973).
Paternal Grandparents: Bowie Amaziah Dawkins (1855-1932) and Mary Elizabeth “Mollie” Byars Dawkins (1869-1956).
Maternal Grandparents: James Monroe “Jim” Brown (1860-1950) and Mary Caldonia “Callie” Dorrough Brown (1865-1926).
Siblings: Mary Jo Dawkins Davis (1928-2014), Leon J. Dawkins (1930-2008), Louis Cleave Dawkins (1933-1999), Weleene Dawkins Harris (1935-2006) and Shelby G. Dawkins.
She is survived by her husband, John Oran Welborn; children, Elaine Welborn Coston, Carol Denise Welborn Brown (Charlie), John Oran Welborn, Jr, and Jeffrey Lee Welborn (Latonia); grandchildren, Dr. Stephen Roy Coston, Jr (Brittney), Johnathon Paul Coston (Beverly), Charles Brandon Brown, Abigail Grace Welborn, Chloe Renee Welborn, Jacob Ethan Welborn, and Ava Nicole Welborn; and great-grandchildren, Kelsie Ella Coston, Ryan Thomas Coston, and Matthew Felix Coston; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday, August 4, 2018 from 11AM to 12PM with a funeral service to follow at 12PM at Kilgroe Funeral Home Leeds Chapel with burial at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
