Nancy Virginia Nelson went to be with the Lord on June 10th, 2019 in The Villages, FL. She was a resident of Leesburg, FL and Mexico, NY. She was the daughter of Raymond & Bernadetta Alder who are both deceased. She was born July 16, 1943 in Oswego, NY. She is survived by her husband Richard W. Nelson, sisters Donna (Gary) Barnett, Carole Dann and brother Francis (Dian) Alder. A brother Albert Alder preceded her in death. She is also survived by several nieces & nephews, 8 grandchildren and one great grandson. She's also survived by her daughter Vicky Wolcik and a son Richard Wolcik Jr. and 3 step-sons Eric Nelson, Brian Nelson and Mathew (Vickie) Nelson. Nancy attended Mexico Central School where she was active in Band and a Drum Major, winning several State Titles. She worked after graduating at Cortaland State College, BOCES of Oswego County and then New York Power Authority as a secretary to the Chief of Maintenance for 28 years. After retiring she and her husband Richard Nelson traveled extensively all over N. America, the Caribbean, S. America and Hawaii. Later in their lives they moved to the Leesburg, FL area and are members of the St. Paul's Catholic Church. Arrangements are entrusted to The Neptune Society and are in charge of the cremation. Funeral service is Sunday July 7, 2019 from 2-4pm at Harter Funeral Home in Mexico, NY. And church service on Monday July 8, 2019 starting at 10am at St Ann Mother of Mary Catholic church. Donations may be made to The National Alzheimer's Association in her name. Condolences may be left with Harter Funeral Home in Mexico, NY. May God bless and rest her soul.
