POCATELLO — Mont D. McGreevy, 66, a resident of Pocatello for the past 21 years, passed away early Saturday, July 21, 2001, at a local care center following an extended illness. He was born September 16, 1934, in Grace, Idaho, a son of Patrick and Reba Byington McGreevy. He attended schools in Pocatello and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956 and was stationed in Greenland.

He drove truck for various trucking companies, the last being Lewis Grover Trucking out of Blackfoot for 14 years. Since about 1987, he worked for the Kirby Vacuum Company as service manager. He enjoyed reading, working and loved animals. He also liked the arts, history and astronomy and enjoyed looking at the heavens with his telescopes.

On January 2, 1980, he married Nancy Davis in Elko, Nevada.

Mont is survived by his wife, Nancy, of Pocatello; a daughter, Candice "Candy" (David) Barrington, Pocatello; a brother, James "Jim" (Maureen) McGreevy, Simi Valley, Calif.; a granddaughter, Catherine of Pocatello. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a member of the Gate City Christian Church. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2001, at 11 a.m. at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave., with his brother, Jim McGreevy, officiating.

Interment will be in the Lava Hot Springs Cemetery.
