Mrs. Jenet Tait, widow of James F. Tait, died at her home in the Swabville district last Friday morning. She had been ailing all winter.

Jenet Brown was born in Litchfield, England, September 11, 1833. and died at Valley Falls, Kansas, on March 19, 1920, äged 86 years, 6 months and 8 days. Death was due to old age and complications.
When but a small child her parents moved to Scotland and from there came to America in 1841, locating at Madison, Indiana, where Jenet grew to womanhood and was married to James F. Tait, August 2, 1860.

To this union were born five children: Mrs. Clara Thompson of Topeka; Harvey Tait, Jennie Belle Tait and William Tait of Valley Falls; and Mary Elizabeth who died at Valley Falls at the age of three years and 9 months.

In October 1868 the family moved to Valley Falls, Kansas, where they resided a few years before locating on the farm in the Swabville district, which has since be their home - a full half century.

She was a member of the United Presbyterian church at Denison, but the family often attended church at Valley Falls when able. The husband and father died July ₁2, 1910. She was the oldest and last of her own family of three sisters and one brother, and four of her own children mourn the death of a dear good mother.

The funeral was held from the old family home Sunday afternoon, Rev. McChesney, her pastor of Denison, conducting the services in the presence of the family and many kind neighbors and friends.

The burial was in Rose Hill cemetery, by the side of husband and daughter.
