William Leonard Cline, 65, Rt. 4, Rusk, was dead on arrival last Wednesday afternoon at Rusk Memorial Hospital following an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday in the Wallace Funeral Chapel with the Rev. U. van Sickle officiating. Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery near Gallatin.
Mr. Cline was born April 21, 1907, at Eastland, but had lived in Rusk for 45 years. He served during World War II with the Army Medical Corp and had been employed At Rusk State Hospital for 38 years. He worked in the recreational department for some time and later was employed in the Maximum Security Unit, retiring in 1966. He was a member of the East Side Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Johnnie Mae Cline, Rusk; two sons, Carl Spurgers and Bill Spurgers, Rusk, two daughters, Mrs. Maurice Manning, Houston and Mrs. John Bryson, Temple; two brothers, Everett Cline, Houston, and Lester Cline, Rusk; four sisters, Mrs. Ida Hamilton, Dallas, Mrs. Jewel Gordon, Waco, Mrs. Oleta Russell, Houston, and Mrs. Claud Chisum, Rusk; ten grandchildren; and 20 great-granchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Cumby, Wayne Burton, Buddy Beard, James Spurgers, Tommy Spurgers, and Max Owen.
