Completely her earthly life at Woodland Park Care Center in Salt Lake City, Utah of natural causes, Loraine Hughes Troester Vranes, 91, was born in Sandy, Utah to James H. Hughes and Bessie Osborne. Graduating from Jordan High School in 1933, she married Frank G Troester June 15, 1935. He preceded her in death after 38 years of marriage September 17, 1973. She married Fred E. (Ted) Vranes Oct 9, 1976. He died on December 2, 1986.

A member of the Golden Age Eagles Auxiliary, Rebecca Lodge, and the St. Joseph The Worker Parrish, Loraine was a volunteer at the Midvale Senior Citizen Center, St. Vincent DePaul's Soup Kitchen, Cottonwood Hospital and a volunteer driver for the blind.

Her two sons and a daughter: Allan (Jerrie) Troester, Glenn (Claudia) Troester, Barbara Larsen, 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren survive. Her parents, brother Ray Hughes, sister Leona Sarantos, grandson David Troester and son-in-law Chad Larsen predeceased Loraine.
