Nortonville — The funeral for August Murl "Gus" Gontz, 83 Nortonville, will be at 10;30 a. m. Friday in the O'Trimble Funeral Home here. Burial will be in the Old Huron cemetery, near Huron Kan.
Mr. Gontz died Tuesday evening in his home at Nortonville. He was born April 25, 1892, near Huron, the son of Jame and Jetta Gontz.
he lived in Doniphan and Atchison counties until 1946, when he moved to a farm near Winchester. He retired from farming in 1963.
he was married to Leota Pearl Harden on April 8, 1919. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include three daughters, Mrs Elvin (Pearl) Flory, Valley Falls, Mrs. Darwyn (Eilene) Acheson, Effingham, and Mrs. Walter (Elsie Page), Denison; a brother, Emery Gontz, Minneapolis, Minn.; sister, Mrs Elsie Halstead, Grand Island Neb.; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son and a grandson.
The family will receive friends this evening from 7-8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Nortonville United Methodist Church or the Heart Fund.
