"Marvin L. Savory died at 3:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, March 6, 1928, at the home of his son Ervlng Savory, of Chambers. Although Mr. Savory had been in ill health for years he had been confined to his bed only three days with an illness of complication of diseases. In the same house In which he died, Mr. Savory was born April 30, 1850, the son of Sarah Kaufman and Washington Savory. Mr. Savory had not always lived in the old homestead although he had spent his entire life in that vicinity. A keen sense of humor and optimistic viewpoint were traits which enlivened Mr. Savory's life and made visiting with him a great pleasure. His many friends found his companionship enjoyable and his upright life gained their highest esteem. Three sons survive his death, Erving, at whose home he died, John, of Toledo, Ohio, and Grover Savory, of Buffalo. Mrs. Savory's death occurred some time ago." (March 7, 1928, The Evening Leader of Cornell, NY)
