SARASOTA, Fla. — Stafford Zerr, 94, of Sarasota, Fla., went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ April 26, 2007.
He was born May 29, 1912, in New Castle, Ind., the son of Carrie Mae (Hill) and Edward Michael Zerr. He graduated from New Castle High School in 1930 and attended Ball State University, Muncie, Ind., where he majored in chemistry.
He was employed by General Motors at Guide Lamp Division, in Anderson, Ind., for more than 36 years. In 1972, he retired as supervisor of the chemistry laboratory and shortly after moved to Florida. He was a member of the Church of the Palms, Presbyterian.
Survivors include son, Paul S. Zerr of Gilbert, Ariz.; son, Gale B. (Brian) Hikade of Fairmount; daughter, Teddy of Anderson, Ind.; as well as five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary, in 1981; and his second wife, Shelby Crichlow in 1997.
A graveside service will be held at Skyway Memorial Gardens, Palmetto, Fla.
