Wayne Kasper -- BourbonnaisWayne J. Kasper, 64, of Bourbonnais, died Saturday (July 21, 2007) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital, Kankakee. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home, west Kankakee. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Maternity BVM Catholic Church. Rev. Richard Pighini will officiate.Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Maternity BVM Youth Group.Mr. Kasper was a retired vice president of Smith Oil Co. He was currently working for Bourbonnais School District 53 as a teacher's aide. He was born Feb. 17, 1943, in Gary, Ind., the son of Eugene and Clara Farkas Kasper. He was a graduate of St. Procopius (Illinois Benedictine) University. He was a member of Maternity BVM Catholic Church, past president of the Holy Name Society, past president of the Maternity BVM School Board, and active at Maternity BVM coaching and refereeing. He was a member of the Bourbonnais Police Commission. He enjoyed golfing.Surviving are his wife, the former Cheryl Neher, whom he married Oct. 2, 1965, at Christ the King Church in Lombard; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Joseph and Elena Kasper of Champaign, David Kasper of Durango, Colo.; three daughters and one son-in-law, Christine and Duane Hayes of Greenville, S.C., Carolyn Kasper of Fairplay, Colo., Kathryn Kasper of Denver, Colo.; three grandchildren; his parents of Sun City West, Ariz.; one sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Brantley Matthews of North Augusta, S.C.; and one brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Jackie Kasper of Old Town, Maine.
