CLARENCE V. ALSUP SR. RITES TO BE TODAY

Funeral services for Clarence Virgil Alsup, Sr., 59, of 2014 McGavock pike, will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Jackson Park Church of Christ. Joe Sanders will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Alsup died of cancer Monday night at his home.

An employee of Newspaper Printing Corp., he had been a newspaper circulation employee here for 16 years. He was a native Hickman county and had lived in Nashville most of his life. He had also worked as a railroad inspector.

He married the former Miss Beulah Timmons, of Franklin, Tennessee. Mr. Alsup was a member of the Church of Christ and the Masons.

Besides his widow, survivors include three daughters, Mrs. A. L. Brown and Mrs. Claude O. Murray, both of Nashville, and Mrs. N. E. Francis of Scottsville, Ky.; two sons, Douglas M. Alsup of Goodlettsville, Tenn., and Clarence V. Alsup, Jr. of Nashville; three sisters, Mrs. L.A. Beasley, Mrs. B. M. Miller and Mrs. L. Garreton, all of Nashville; a brother, Bryan Alsup of Nashville; and nine grandchildren.
