Alexander James Alessio, 29, of Grove City, passed away early Sunday morning, July 15, 2018. His family rejoices in knowing that his eternal journey has begun with His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Alex was born on Dec. 21, 1988, to Steven G. Alessio and Lisa K. (Como) Alessio. He was a graduate of Grove City High School in 2007. He went on to attend classes at Penn State Shenango and Pittsburgh Technical Institute, where he studied graphic design. He was an employee of George J. Howe Co. in Grove City. He attended Victory Family Church in Cranberry Township.

He was a talented artist, loved creating and listening to music, skateboarding, and was a film fanatic. He most enjoyed playing pool, cards and cornhole with his family. He regularly enjoyed spending time at the family vacation spot on the lake in Vermilion, Ohio.

Alex endured much adversity throughout his life, and persevered. Praise the Lord for His mercies and unfailing grace and love during the last 12 years, and for the miracle of healing for Alex in the last eight months of his life. His last days were happy, healthy, surrounded by friends and family who love him, and he continued to pursue his relationship with Jesus. He completed his recent goals of going on a short-term mission trip to Cleveland, Ohio, and a family trip to Gettysburg, with his dad, aunt and uncle.

Alex is survived by his parents, Steve and Lisa Alessio. He also had a beloved cat, Harley at home.
