On June 18, 1955, she married Richard "Dick" J. Londo, Ph.D at St. Joseph Catholic Church where they remained members for over 50 years. He preceded her in death on Nov. 3, 2008.
Barbara began working for Sears when they opened in Green Bay and continued to do so until her retirement after more than 40 years of service. She made many lifelong friends and held those friendships close to her heart. Barbara enjoyed personalizing Christmas for many people by knitting customized Christmas stockings. The one thing Barbara cherished most was her family. She put everyone else first. She was always happiest when her loved ones were around whether it was for special occasions, reunions or just because.
Barbara will be sadly missed by her five children, Cathy Londo and her partner, Tony Burkard, Tom Londo, Ph.D., and his wife, Noorul Rahman, Ph.D., Mike Londo, Ann Londo, Pat and Sheri Londo; a son-in-law, Dave Navratil, MD; six grandchildren, Michael Navratil, Amy (Brian Cherrington, Ph.D.) Navratil - Cherrington, Ph.D., Alex Londo, Evan Londo, Starr (Brian) McAllister, Amber LeComte; seven great-grandchildren, Vanessa and Jack Navratil, Henry and William Cherrington, Clover Carter, Eric and Kellie McAllister; her sister, Sue (Dave) Nelson as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Margaret "Margie" Navratil and an infant daughter; her parents and sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Cliff Bowers.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014. A parish wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Friends may also call at St. Joseph Catholic Church, corner of 9th St. and 12th Ave., from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with Rev. Don Everts officiating. Burial will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
