Mrs. Ralph George Newton Jr, age 89, died, July 23, 2018. She was born Harriet Dewitt Adams in Macon on July 20, 1929. She was the daughter of Ralph Adams and Elizabeth Riley Adams of Macon.
Mrs. Newton attended Wesleyan College and graduated from The Barmore School in New York City.
She was an active member of Ingleside Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was a part of the Junior League of Macon, Macon Town Committee of The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America, Town and Country Garden Club and the former Bibb County Medical Auxiliary. Mrs. Newton was also active in many other civic and community activities throughout the years.
Mrs. Newton was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Dr. Ralph George Newton, Jr and her sister Elizabeth Adams Stringfellow and her husband Horace.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Ingleside Baptist Church, 834 Wimbish Road, Macon, GA 31210 or to the Salvation Army, 1955 Broadway, Macon, GA 31206
The funeral service will take place Wednesday, July 25th, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Ingleside Baptist Church. . Burial will be private in Riverside Cemetery.
