Rudolph Joseph Lupinacci, age 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 21, 2018 in Durham N.C. Known to friends and family as "Rudy", he was born January 4, 1933 in Stamford, CT to Gabriele and Letizia Lupinacci.
Rudy was a 1951 graduate of Stamford High School.
He served in the US Army for the 22nd Infantry in Germany during the Korean war.
Like his father, he worked as a bricklayer and stone-mason for Greenwich Local No. 14 and held lifetime membership with the International Union of Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers.
He enjoyed playing golf, traveling, socializing over a good meal, spending time with his grandchildren and talking sports and Elvis with his nephew Gabe. He was also an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.
Rudy was predeceased by his parents, brothers; Peter and Silvio Lupinacci, sister Rose Giannitti and half-brothers; Frank and Albert Blefari.
Rudy is survived by his daughter Karen Lombardi, sons Ronald (Ellen), Michael and Steven Lupinacci, grandchildren; John, Stephen and James Lombardi, Nicholas and Theresa Lupinacci; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling Hours will be held on Thursday July 26, 2018 from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. at Lacerenza Funeral Home 8 Schuyler Avenue in Stamford.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday July 27, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church 37 Schuyler Avenue in Stamford. Burial will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery.
