Mr. Borkhardt died Sunday, Nov. 21, 1993, at Edwards Hospital, Naperville,
Ill.
He was born June 21, 1926, in Morrisonville, Ill. He married Minnie Christine
"Chris'' Strode Aug. 22, 1958*, in Mesa, Ariz.
He was employed by McLaughlin Body Company, Moline, for 25 years, and was
quality control supervisor when he retired on medical disability in 1978.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
He enjoyed woodworking.
Survivors include the widow; daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Barry
Mendenhall, Baker, Ore., Dianna and Roy Sims, Kincaid, Ill., and Lorna
Borkhardt, Moline; sons and daughters-in-law, Louis II and Carolyn Borkhardt,
Decatur, Ill., Jerry Borkhardt, Moline, Stanley and Anita Borkhardt, Colona,
Terry and Carolyn Borkhardt, Taylorville, Ill., and Gary and Gloria Borkhardt,
East Moline; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elsie
