He was born July 19, 1944 in Clinton, IA the son of William Horn and Dorothy (Boyd) Horn. On December 24, 1962 he was united in marriage to Sue Clark, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Jim Horn of Purdy, MO; two daughters, Lannetta “Netta” Ellis and her husband Jerry of Washburn, MO and Ann Nickle and her husband Doug of Cassville, MO; one sister, JoAnn Beeson and her husband Mitchell of Monett, MO; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one daughter, Jennifer Lynn; two brothers, Bill Horn and Dale Roller and one sister Barbara Stilwell.
Rick received his education in Butterfield and Cassville, graduating from Cassville High School. For several years he was employed as a machinist at G&R Industries in Purdy, MO and then at FASCO in Cassville as a tool and die maker. After his retirement he farmed full time, and he loved his cattle. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Butterfield, MO, where he was a trustee. For forty-six years he was sexton for Russell Cemetery in Butterfield.
Graveside services were held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Russell Cemetery in Butterfield. Pastor David Eaton, Sr. and Pastor Mike Renfrow conducted the services.
